The North Yorkshire Girls’ Centre of Excellence (NYGCOE) is one of only 28 FA Licenced enhanced coaching centres for U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17 age groups, with the aim being to provide players with the support required to develop their sporting potential.
Players can only join a Centre within 90 minutes travelling time of where they live. Access to the COE programme is through a trial process held in June each year. Outside of June, players can still trial for a COE but if signed to a club a seven-day notice of approach should be completed.
U9s train for a minimum of two hours per week and may continue to play for a grassroots team. All other age groups train for a minimum of four hours per week and participate in a full fixture programme against other COE teams. For this reason, registered players are not be permitted to play for a grassroots club.
All newly registered players must qualify to play for England and only players registered to a FA Girls’ COE will be eligible for National Performance Camps or International U15 and U17 squad selection.
